"Sue is a fantastic instructor, offering not only real-time instruction during the scheduled lessons, but also a wealth of self-study resources for reinforcement of key concepts. However, the biggest differentiator between Sue and other CFIs is that she is able to truly understand each student, and tailor her teaching style to suit."

Established in 1929 by 99 women pilots to provide mutual support and advancement of aviation, The Ninety-Nines Organization of Women Pilots has continued and expanded that mission. Today, the organization promotes world fellowship through flight, provides networking and scholarship opportunities for women and aviation education in the community and preserves the unique history of women in aviation.
Following in the footsteps of these early 99s, our members are represented in all areas of aviation today. And, to quote Amelia, fly "for the fun of it!". The Ninety-Nines,Inc. International Organization of Women Pilots

Resources for Women Pilots
The top 5 reasons that women (and men) give that are important for choosing a female flight instructor:
• "Women listen and have more empathy."
• "Women are accepting of me and others."
• "The whole experience is treated with an emphasis on the process of learning rather than
• "A woman approaches the training more like a coach who wants to make a difference, rather than being egocentric and abrupt."
• "Women tend to be more encouraging - and that is what I need."
Of the total population of the US-2013 US Census Bureau, 1.9% are pilots
Of the total estimated 599,086 active airmen certificates held (pilots), 39,621 are women - 6.6%
Of the total estimated 98,842 active flight instructor certificates held (pilots), 6386 are women
flight instructors - 1% of total active pilots, 6% of active flight instructors.

Do you know that most women (and many men) would prefer to take lessons from a woman flight instructor?
From my own experience, when you begin learning to fly, you are likely entering an arena where you have little or no knowledge or experience. You are already unsure embarking down this path. You want someone that listens and is patient, explaining things in a different way, if you don't get it the first time. Because I’ve been there, I want to make this as positive and as fun an experience as possible.
Learning to fly with an award winning Female Flight Instructor can be rewarding and fun! While you are excited to embark on this new adventure, you also want to feel safe and confident.
